After a 45 minute drive I arrived at the Lake Lawn resort in Lake Geneva. I was there for S & K’s wedding, and let me tell you it was definetly worth the drive. The guests at this wedding were great. I was setup just outside of the dining hall, and had a great view of the lake. One different thing I heard was announced by the DJ, if the guests wanted S & K to kiss they had to sing a song with the word love in it, rather than clanking their glasses/ringing bells. I loved that idea and so did the guests. I could hear how much fun they were having because many of the guests took them up on the offer of singing a song with the word love in it.

The bride and groom had chosen to have a memory book created by their guests. When I got there I was informed that there would be some things added to the table for decoration. One of the family members had created round spheres completely made of flowers that complimented the wedding colors. The spheres were created with live flowers that smelled amazing. Two rested on top of candle holders, while the third rested on the table. I loved the way the arrangement looked next to the photo booth setup.

S & K were a very fun couple that took many pictures in the photobooth. I was also lucky to meet both the parents of the bride as well the groom’s. They were both very fun to talk to and I even got a hug at the end of the night for helping to create wonderful memories. I felt blessed to be involved in their wedding day.

I must say that at this wedding I had some very creative people pose in the photo booth. I later came to find out that a group of them were art majors, who love to show off their creativity. If I am right they were in the booth almost 10 times and no two photos were alike. They guests were all very creative and used the props in a variety of different ways.

It was a beautiful August afternoon as I arrived at the Lakefront to setup the wedding photo booth. The event was being held at Discovery World.  The bride and groom chose to have a memory book and magnetic backings.  As I setup in the hallway I had the beautiful surroundings of Lake Michigan with boats slowly traveling past.

To me, this was a true love story, which the bride and groom shared with their guests. Once together in their younger years they ended up taking different paths. Many years later their paths crossed.  They fell in love again and decided to get married.

The guests at this wedding gave amazing speeches. There was this one little boy who gathered all of his courage to speak to everyone. He was very young and shy, but had to share how happy he was. As the speeches continued I realized a common thread such as Summit Avenue moms, Summit Avenue dads, and Summit Avenue kids. It was very nice to hear how involved the community of Summit Avenue is, it sounded just like a large extended family where everyone truly cared about one another.

Towards the end of the evening there was a beautiful suprise…. fireworks danced over Lake Michigan. There was an event at Summerfest but I prefer to think  they were especially for the bride and groom who looked so happy and in love.

One of the first weddings I worked  was in Hartford at the Chandelier Ballroom.  As I walked in I was greeted with the views of a warm inviting foyer. There was an old ticketbooth window, with a rotary phonebooth next to it.  I walked into the ballroom to meet with the wedding consultant and I could already smell  the delicious dinner being prepared.

As I was setting up the booth in the foyer for A & S, I encountered many curious individuals who were inquisitive about what I was doing. As soon as I informed them I was setting up the photobooth they were very excited and could not wait for me to open. A & S had chosen to have a memory book created during the reception. After guests took their photos they were encouraged to create a page for the bride and groom. There was a table provided with numerous supplies of ribbon, colorful paper, markers, and glue. This allowed the guests to be creative with the supplies, creating a memorable page.

As I think back on this wedding I was amazed not only at the beauty of the location but also with the different things the bride and groom incorporated. In the foyer there were a number of pictures around the room. Some were color while others black and white, the one common factor for all the pictures was A & S. The photos showed different stages in the couple’s relationship.

I was able to pick out four photostrips that stuck out for me. The first is a young couple that had ventured into the photobooth a few times throughout the night. They were very sweet and seemed to be having a great night. Their photostrip has a variety of pictures from funny to serious. I really like the last photo with the monkey faces. The second photostrip has the same guy in the pictures. He was the life of the party throughout the wedding, and helped to get everyone excited.

The group of guys were very excited to take part in the photo booth. They took some time before taking the photos to search through the props and to come up with a few ideas. Last but not least is photostrip number four, which was all about the ladies. “A” was able to join a few of her friends in the photobooth to share in the experience.

I would like to thank A & S for allowing me to play a role in their special day. It was a very memorable night.

Hi everyone! My name is Melissa, another friendly face with Picture This! Photobooths. I started working here in July and have already worked many fantastic weddings. I will be sharing photos and stories from all the great events I have had the pleasure of working.

My last wedding where I was able to learn the process before working alone, was in Germantown at the Quilted Bear. As I walked in there was a beautiful quilt with a bear on it;  very fitting with the name of the place.  R & S had set up a candy bar for their guests to enjoy. There was a WIDE selection of treats.

Speaking of their guests, they were a very fun crowd to help me learn the ropes. They were very energetic and took full advantage of the props in the photobooth.

R & S offered magnetic backings to their guests. This means that the guests were able to take home a photo strip with their pictures on it, which they could then display on their fridge. One memory from this wedding that stands out the most is this little boy on the dance floor. He was dancing to every song, and would often encourage the adults around him to join in the fun.

As I was looking through the pictures, I noticed that J & C were the stars of the show (I’m sure that was the case both IN and OUT of the photobooth!).  They had so much fun in the booth – just the two of them and with friends.  What a treat for their guests to take home a photo of themselves with the bride and groom!  Any of these would make awesome pictures to add to a custom thank you note!  I could see putting the serious black and white smiling & smooching pics on a classic white card with simple black font.  Or what about adding the boa/top hat photos to a black card with a white cursive font?  The possibilities are endless (because we work with a graphic designer to make sure that you have customized thank yous that reflect your personality and gratitude to your guests!).  And how fun to have silly photos of yourself and your new spouse to display along with the more serious pictures taken by your photographer!  (I’m staring at photobooth pics of my hubby and I as I type… they make me smile!)

It was clear from the selection of photos, though, that J & C weren’t the only ones having a blast in the booth.  Check out these awesome pictures of their guests:

I love that these pictures capture a range of ages, faces, moods.  No one is too young, too old, too serious, or too silly for the photobooth!

And, since I’ve started a new tradition by handing out awards here on the blog, I thought I’d continue.  This time, the awards go to the smallest (1) and largest (12!) groups in the photobooth.

I’ve seen many people brave the booth alone, and usually with much success.  Are you brave enough to get in the booth by yourself!?

Several large groups have also had their photos taken in the booth – our record is 14 people in the booth!  J & C’s guests approached that, by having 12 in the booth.  Will your group be the first to fit 15 in the booth!?

And finally, just for fun, I posted one last large group photo with the bride and groom and friends!  J & C – I hope that your wedding was a fun and memorable day!  You rocked out the photobooth, and I hope that years from now, you’ll still look at the photostrips and smile!  Congratulations and best wishes from everyone at Picture This!

So here goes – my first PTPblog post, about an event that I attended a few weeks ago.

We arrived at the Seven Seas Restaurant early in the afternoon (prior to the reception) to set up the booth and were amazed by the beauty of the location that “K” and “M” picked for their reception.  When we returned a few hours later, the room was packed with smiling faces, the aroma of dinner lingered in the air, and the view of the sunset outside set the mood for a truly magical evening.  We arrived just in time to hear the best man toast the bride and groom, and based on his speech alone, we knew the next few hours were going to be a lot of fun!

We hopped in the booth for the final test shots (did you know that the PTP attendants get to have fun in the photobooth on the night of your event, too!?!), and confirmed that everything was ready to go.

Just then, a little boy walked by.  He was probably 4, maybe 5.  He looked over at us, and I knew that he’d be our first guest of the night!  I invited him over to the booth, showed him how the buttons worked, and let him work his magic.  After karate-chopping through 4 shots, he ran off to find two friends.  Meanwhile, I encouraged a group of preteen girls to hop in the booth.  With the help of some of our rad props (Bill Clinton mask, anyone?) the girls produced 4 great photos and went to show off their photostrip to their parents.  Within minutes, we had a steady stream of guests at the photobooth.  Let the fun begin!

K & M chose to add our guestbook package, and it was a huge hit with their guests.  A few ladies admitted that they were totally into scrapbooking and made beautifully elaborate pages.  Even the guys were into the photo guestbook, and pasted their picture into the book next to sweet sentiments (things like “awesome party” and “thanks for getting married“).  At the end of the night, the bride and groom left with an awesome assortment of pictures of their friends and family… such a fun parting gift!

I thought it might be super-fun to hand out a few awards for the evening here on the blog!

The most creative photo goes to these two guys, who held a viking helmet from the prop trunk up to the camera to create this swiss-cheese effect.  I love how their faces are showing perfectly through the holes in the top of the helmet, and I’m just blown away by this creativity!  I would have never thought to hold the prop up to the camera like this (usually I’m too busy trying to put the prop on my head!).  So cool.

Our biggest group in the photobooth for the evening was 9 people.  I should mention that we’ve gotten at least 14 people in our booth before, but I think 9 is a pretty valiant effort.  The group didn’t believe me when I told them that a 14-person photo was possible, and they asked for my assistance in arranging them so that everyone’s face was showing.  I was happy to oblige, and I think they ended up with a great shot.  The guy in the viking helmet is a lucky, lucky guy to be surrounded by 8 lovely ladies!

And finally, to K and M – you two make such a happy couple!  We were honored to be a part of your big day, and we hope that you made many, many memories that will last a lifetime.  Congratulations and best wishes to you both!
